It would be very useful if you could have a go at putting your own info on there – no matter how small you think it is – it is all extremely useful information.

I dislike the idea of our proposed supermarket having the best view of the lake, however I do like the fresh approach of enabling the community to enjoy the view with the addition of a ‘piazza’.

Better still move the supermarket so it doesn’t block the lake view at all!! I don’t see why the truck driver delivering goods should have the best view of a potentially elegant and beautiful lake.

It’s currently looking neglected with the drought, but we could certainly make it into something that people would enjoy more often, WITH THE RIGHT PLANNING on behalf of the community!!!!

I would suspect “GPS” should be “GPRS” – the mobile-phone data network. The meter would “call home” electricity usage/feed-in information wirelessly.

(This would make sense because the mobile-phone network is now so cheap, reliable and difficult to “hack” and its much easier putting a “mobile phone” into the meter at factory than wiring the meter to a land-line.)

A main advantage of the smart metering is its short reporting intervals (possibly each half-hour). This allows for very detailed analysis and optimisation of your household usage and solar-panel operation during the day. (As mentioned the householder has access to this up-to-date information via the internet.)

The line: “You will never have again have someone entering your private space to check the meter because the ‘beam it back’ via GPS” seems a little odd to me. Can you explain how this function takes place?

I agree with the new proposal and wish to express my dissatisfaction with the cheap and unsustainable development which is proposed. We walk to the shops on a regular basis and find now that it is difficult to cross at the intersection of Sutherlands Rd and Station Street so with the added traffic it would be a nightmare. We do need to have a view when we sit and have coffee, if I want to look at an intersection or carpark I can go to Gisborne as the inappropriate development over there has totally destroyed the beauty and ambience of that once beautiful town. Pleasedo not turn Riddells Creek into a clone of Gisborne or worse still Sunbury. We have an opportunity here to do it RIGHT. We know the developer just want to do it as cheaply and in a manner which maximises his potential thus we get tiny carparks like at the coles in Gisbourne as every inch of space has to be developed to maximise his profit. Let us see if we can set an example to the poor victims of Gisbourne who have had to put up with their beautiful town being destroyed by profit hungry developers. Councillors you are there to represent the people NOT THE DEVELOPERS!!!

The Environment Groups stall will be staffed by people who can talk to you about the Solar Neighbourhood Project and the proposed commercial redevelopment. See the developer’s plan and see the community’s plan and sign a petition if you support greater participation by the community in the development of the hub of our town.
